National Geographic: An Army of One
This is just one of those stories that makes you chuckle a bit. My wife just told me of a coworker who recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. Before he left he packed a National Geographic map of Iraq among other things. He didn’t really think he would need to bring his own map, but he packed it just in case.
Well it pays to be prepared! During his months of service, he and his unit relied heavily on this map to get around as they were never issued anything official by the Army. Oh boy…
